About us
LA LUPA FEST is an arts festival that seeks to preserve, present and promote positive images of Italian and Italian-Americans. La Lupa Italian Cultural Arts Festival was founded in 2009 by Franco D'Alessandro, Tony Lepore, Lucia Marano and Eva Minemar to present the rich traditions of Italian and Italian-American culture, art and heritage through a unique, inclusive festival that exhibits the magnificent creative community of Italian and Italian-American artists to diverse audiences in Los Angeles.
LA LUPA FEST draws its name from the dual inspiration of the nurturing She-Wolf of mythology who is at the very heart of Roman civilization; and the nickname for the legendary, Oscar-winning, Italian actress Anna Magnani, a muse to many of the greatest artists of the 20th century who has come to symbolize a level of excellence and honesty in theater and cinema.
LA LUPA FEST seeks to create a festival that celebrates Italian Culture and Art in a contemporary context, featuring established and emerging Italian and Italian American artists in Theatre, Film, Fine Art, Dance, Music, Poetry and the Culinary Arts. LA LUPA’s vision is to break cultural barriers and erase Italian-American stereotypes by having a multidisciplinary Italian Cultural Arts festival, which originates in Los Angeles.
LA LUPA FEST is produced by Angry Bubble Productions/ViolaCello StageWorks, LLC (Eva Minemar, Artistic Director, Tony Lepore, Executive Producer).
